Overview
Meri-Porin Paloaseman Urheilu- ja Virkistysseura ry is an association focused on sport, recreation and community. This website was built to describe its work openly and will grow as details are confirmed.
Purpose
The association's purpose is defined in its rules. Until those are published, we can describe the spirit of it: giving members chances to be active, recharge and get to know one another outside work.
Sport and recreation
The emphasis is on accessible forms of exercise and shared social evenings. The goal is not competitive sport but giving everyone a reason to take part.
Relationship to the fire station
The association's name refers to the Meri-Pori fire station, around which its community has formed. It is nonetheless an independent association and not part of the rescue service. Any official cooperation will be mentioned only once confirmed.
Priorities
Proposed priorities for the coming season: establishing regular exercise sessions, a few events a year open to the wider community, and clear communication with members. These will be confirmed by the board.
Proposed values
- Team spirit. Looking out for one another off duty too.
- Wellbeing. Exercise that supports resilience in demanding work.
- Participation. Everyone can join in at their own level.
- Friendship. Getting to know each other across shifts and roles.
- Fairness. Acting openly and even-handedly.
- Responsibility. Cooperating thoughtfully and respecting shared resources.
